Josh Hardenbrook

As a NYC-based photographer, I blend a unique perspective with a diverse professional background. With a PhD in experimental high-energy particle physics and a decade in academia, I transitioned to quantitative finance, where I spent five years in trading. Rediscovering my passion for photography, I embraced it as a vital creative outlet and a profound source of meaning in my life.

My scientific training instilled in me meticulous attention to detail and an analytical approach to problem-solving. These skills, combined with my creative vision, allow me to capture images that are both technically precise and artistically compelling.

The name ‘spinor’ for my studio draws inspiration from my physics background. In quantum mechanics, a spinor describes the intrinsic angular momentum of particles, whose motion creates light. This concept resonates with my view of photography as a means to capture the essence of a moment.

From physicist to photographer, my journey has taught me the value of honesty—in my craft and personal expression. I strive to create images that are authentic, meaningful, and collaborative, growing and evolving with each project.
